NSFW: MLS PIN Lawsuit and the Future of Buyer Agency

Do contracts EVEN matter anymore? The MLS PIN, a New England MLS, has settled a commission lawsuit, a lawsuit which was brought against them for supposedly following the rules of NAR. That’s right! Sellers in this lawsuit apparently don’t feel they should be forced to pay buyer agents. Well, NAR requires us to put listings in the MLS which means cooperating commission…who pays it is written into the listing agreement that the sellers signed WITHOUT A GUN to their head! What is the future of buyer agency and who do these kinds of lawsuits actually hurt? We are pissed off and dropping F bombs on this episode of UAITL.
