Before becoming a Realtor and succumbing to her torrid love affair with real estate, Emily had an illustrious career producing non-fiction television for such networks as ABC, NBC, CBS, LIFETIME, HGTV and DIY. She won an Emmy Award for producing Extreme Makeover Home Edition in 2005.

But the real estate bug bit her when she was just 26 and purchased her first fixer home in Atwater Village. It kicked off a curiosity for architecture, design and renovation. While working on numerous renovation TV series’ she continued to follow the housing market and design trends.  After 18 years of making the impossible happen in Reality TV she’s proud of her resourcefulness,  ability to multi-task in her sleep, and her infectiously positive attitude. Her reputation is one of truly caring about people and wanting to see them reach their maximum potential, be that in a home or in wealth building.

With her knowledge of construction and design Emily’s super-skills are being able to identify a great house, all the while really listening to what her clients want and finding properties that tick all the boxes.  Her favorite moment is seeing someone move into their forever home and start living well.

Not all new construction is created equal 😬 Some homes are built to last—others? Let’s just say, you’ll feel the difference.

So how do you spot QUALITY new construction vs. something that might not age well? Look for:

- Workmanship: Even surfaces: Look for straight lines, level floors, and properly aligned walls
- Seamless finishes: Check for gaps between walls and ceilings, poorly fitted trim, and uneven paint jobs are Solid core doors: If they feel hollow, run.
- Engineered hardwood floors: Not laminate. Just say NO to PERGO!
- Quartz countertops & full backsplashes: Cheap finishes = cut corners.
- Overall weight & feel: If everything feels plastic-y and flimsy, it probably is.

Why consider new construction? A 10-year structural warranty 🤩 That means no surprise foundation or roof issues (aka no major headaches for a decade). Plus, developers often throw in incentives that make buying even sweeter.

The one feature you can’t afford to overlook when buying a home? Community.

There’s a reason certain neighborhoods in LA are always in demand—and it’s not just about price. A strong community can increase your property value by 10-15%. 📈💰

So where does everyone want to live? Here are the top five neighborhoods on every buyer’s wish list:

1️⃣ Burbank – Blue Ribbon public schools, charming homes, and a city that feels like a small town.
2️⃣ Eagle Rock – College town with creative energy, historic charm, and amazing local spots.
3️⃣ Woodland Hills – Midcentury modern homes, suburban feel with big-city amenities (plus, bigger lot sizes!).
4️⃣ Redondo Beach – That coastal lifestyle without the Venice Beach chaos. 🌊 Plus, desirable public schools!
5️⃣ Hastings Ranch, Pasadena – Gorgeous homes, tree-lined streets, and old-school charm and their famous “Holiday Light Up” spectacle! 🎄
