Try neutral colors on your walls and floor. Pair it with natural wood, plants and some kind of interesting textiles, such as; blankets, throw pillows, rugs, or macrame.

2. Get organized—use every trick in the book.

Nobody works well in a messy home office. Don’t waste any space by tucking away printers, filing into corners and in drawers. Use all your vertical spaces by putting shelving up to the ceiling with different types of storage and a wall hanging boards to help organize supplies that might otherwise end up shoved in a drawer!

3. Create a wall gallery.

Style a gallery wall against a neutral wall. Follow a pattern or mood. The wall gallery should look like a mood board. You can arrange them on the floor first, moving the prints around until you reach the look that you want. Use removable wall strips to hold your prints up. This way you can change them up.

4. Find an area rug that speaks to you.

Whether your style is tribal or shabby chic, find a carpet that will make your home office feel … homey. Pair it with neutral colored furniture and add texture, color, or pattern to make it the focal point of the room.

5. Add plants!

A lovely plant will help you feel calm and clean the air—and it looks pretty too. Add succulents, cactus, banana tree plants, or whichever plants you desire. There are never enough plants in a room. We even love images of plants framed and as accessories.
