Architectural Digest/Clever features Courtney Poulos’ listing.
Some neighbors are happy to hand over a cup of sugar, but in the case of this renovation, one was willing to offer up a game-changing referral. “We met the owners because of the people who live next door,” explains designer Kristin Korven. “Their home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles.”
Kristin co-owns the architecture and interior design practice Part Office with Jeff Kaplon, and the pair hit it off with the couple, who shares this property with their two school-age children. But the designers also immediately saw why they were requested in the first place. “While the location of the house offers distant views of the Angeles National Forest, the layout itself was very compact and dark,” Kristin notes. “There wasn’t a clearly defined use for the rooms on the lower level.”
